Walk for Moral Excellence
- By Saleem Muhammad
Immorality and violence has reached new heights in our cities and communities. The Ephraim Bahar Cultural Center understands the need for action. We have to call our communities back to what’s morally right and what’s humanly right.
The Ephraim Bahar Cultural Center hosts its annual Walk for Moral Excellence once a year. We partner with our partner organizations and form our community parade (walk for moral excellence) event. Parade organizers along with the 8th district police department, community organizations, neighborhood residents, walked along the one mile in procession from 69thStreet and Western Avenue to 71st Street and West to Marquette Park.
During the walk the organizers used bullhorns encouraging the community to stand up against immorality, crime, and take responsibility for the community you live in. On this day with the support of community organizers we want to send a powerful message; do something for yourself that we may transform our neighborhood to be model community.
